Voyage Co — Payment & Cancellation Policy (California Rentals)

1. Payment Terms

• Online payment at booking only. All rental charges, selected Extras, taxes, and fees are paid on our website at the time of booking. No payments are collected at vehicle handoff.
• Accepted methods: Major credit/debit cards in the Guest’s name. No cash or prepaid cards.
• Security deposit (authorization hold): Placed on the Guest’s card at vehicle handoff; see the Security Deposit Policy.
• Changes affecting price (e.g., delivery/return location change): If a Guest requests a location different from the original booking, any price difference must be paid via a payment link sent by email. The vehicle will be dispatched to the new location only after the difference is paid. If unpaid, original pickup/return location remains in force.
• Extensions: Any rental extension must be prepaid and is subject to availability and current rates.
• Declined payment: If a card is declined, Voyage Co may cancel the booking or repossess the vehicle where lawful.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

• Free cancellation: Cancel at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup → 100% refund.
• Partial refund: Cancel 24–48 hours before pickup → rental charges refunded minus a $50 administrative fee.
• Bookings made less than 24 hours before pickup (last-minute): Cancellation is allowed, but Voyage Co retains the greater of $50 or 50% of rental charges; the remainder is refunded.
• Less than 24 hours before pickup / same-day cancellation / no-show: No refund.
• Refunds are credited to the original payment card. Timelines depend on the bank (credit: typically 24–72 hours; debit: up to 7–10 business days).

3. Early Returns

• Unused days are non-refundable once the rental period has begun.

4. Modifications

• Changes to dates, vehicle, or Extras must be requested at least 24 hours in advance, are subject to approval, and may adjust the rate.

5. Post-Trip Charges (ETOLL, Violations & Admin)

• Electronic tolls (ETOLL / toll bridges): Tolls recorded during the rental and billed to Voyage Co after the trip will be charged to the Guest post-trip. A reasonable administrative fee may apply per invoice or per event.
• Traffic/parking/bridge violations: Tickets, penalties, court costs, collection fees, and related charges received after the trip will be billed to the Guest or deducted from the security deposit.
• Other pass-throughs: Any third-party post-trip charges (e.g., camera violations, congestion fees) may be charged to the Guest upon receipt by Voyage Co.
• Authorization: By booking, the Guest authorizes Voyage Co to charge the payment card on file and/or deduct from the security deposit for post-trip tolls, violations, administrative fees, and related costs.
• Guests may request itemized documentation for any post-trip deductions.

6. California Consumer Notice

• Refunds are returned to the original payment method only.
• Guests may request an itemized breakdown of retained or post-trip charges.
